Geofleece

E-mail Print

Geofleece is an easily deployed, robust, removable insulation layer that protects grass surfaces from freezing.

The special honeycomb of soft fibres locks out the frost, traps in the ground heat and allows air flow to ensure that revenue-generating fixtures are not postponed because of a heavy frost.

Individual rolls of Geofleece can also be deployed on different areas of the pitch to enhance germination.

Germination

By insulating the warmth in the ground, germination can be increased by preventing young seedlings from temperatures not conducive to growth, thereby extending the growing season. This insulation blanket will also encourage growth of the established sward for the same reason. This is beneficial in high wear areas that need more recovery time throughout the season.

Frost

Tests carried out at Carlisle Football Club during the cold spell of winter 2008/2009 showed that the Geofleece can keep out frost at prolonged temperatures of -7oC. No other lay flat cover can offer this protection.

For clubs with existing frost covers the Geofleece can compliment this in problem areas such as areas shaded by stands or worn areas of the pitch.

Geofleece can also reduce costs for clubs with underground heating systems as the insulation created by Geofleece will reduce the length of time the heating system is required.

Weight

At only 300g/sm2, 2 people can easily deploy a roll 50 metres x 4.2 metres in less than 5 minutes
