Beat hard frosts and excessive rain with Geofleece and Pitch Protector

A large number of matches, both soccer and rugby, have had to be postponed both this season and last because of frost – resulting in serious loss of revenue that cannot be recovered.

The vast majority of those games postponed because of frost getting into the pitch would have gone ahead if the new Geofleece Pitch Protection system from JMS Sport UK had been deployed.

Made in the UK, Geofleece has been the subject of an independent trial at Wolverhampton Wanderers where it was proven to be able to
keep out frost to minus 8 degrees.

Recently Geofleece was used by Carlisle United FC to ensure that their match against ?? went ahead in spite of a heavy frost that caused the postponement of other matches.

Even those clubs with under soil heating systems can benefit from our Geofleece system. With heating costs of around £70 per hour the running costs per day are £1,680 and for a month a staggering £50,400. If Geofleece was deployed it could pay for itself in much less than a month!

The Geofleece system can be deployed over the entire pitch by eight people in an hour. It can therefore remain in place up to three hours prior to kick-off and then be re-deployed after the game.

Most grounds have areas that are more vulnerable to frost than others – usually the shaded parts of the pitch. The Geofleece Pitch Protection system can be used in these more vulnerable areas to complement your existing/traditional frost sheets.

JMS Sport UK has another system, Pitch Protector, specifically designed to enable groundsmen to control the amount of moisture in their pitches and to combat excessive rain. It has a long proven track record both in the USA and here in the UK.

No better proof of its performance capabilities comes from Headingley, a pitch that has always been notoriously susceptible to heavy showers because of poor drainage. With two premier rugby clubs using it, groundsman Jason Booth needed all the protection he could get.

In the last two seasons the system has not only saved countless games but has enabled Jason to provide a good playing surface to enable the players to perform at the best of their abilities – and provide better matches for spectators and TV audiences alike.

Our specially designed system allows four people to deploy it over the entire pitch in an hour. It can remain in place up to two hours prior to kick-off and then be re-deployed after the game.

Once removed from the surface of the pitch the individual sheets are loaded on to small trolleys and simply wheeled into the storage areas – ready to be deployed again.
